Tracy Larson
Education & Day Program Manager
As the Education Program Manager, Tracy is responsible for developing and planning outdoor education programming for K-12 schools through Wilderness Inquiry’s Canoemobile program. She also manages Outdoor Credit Recovery, youth evaluation and research, and works directly with teachers, schools and districts to plan and implement meaningful outdoor learning experiences to improve academic and wellbeing outcomes.
Prior to working at Wilderness Inquiry, Tracy was a Social Studies teacher in urban settings, working primarily with K-12 students on the autism spectrum. Her love for geography and cultures led her to take a leap of faith in transitioning to the travel industry. She specialized in accessible outdoor adventure and extending student academic learning to their travels abroad. All of that led her to Wilderness Inquiry!
Tracy believes that learning outside makes children happier, healthier, and smarter, and her mission is to move the education system towards adopting outdoor learning as a mainstream strategy to address the nature deficit that today’s youth face.
