Overview
Washington, DC sits at the confluence of two vital rivers, the Potomac and the Anacostia. Over 5 million people live within the watershed. The Potomac, often synonymous with the nation’s capital, eventually flows into the Chesapeake Bay. Beginning in 2011, Canoemobile has connected thousands of students and members of the public to this historic waterway in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country.
