Overview
The Patapsco River is relatively small for most of its length, however, the last 10 miles are a tidal estuary of the Chesapeake Bay. Patapsco Valley State Park extends for 32 miles of the river, providing recreational opportunities for humans as well as habitat for wildlife. With protection from the Chesapeake Bay and the Appalachian Mountains, the climate in Baltimore remains fairly mild throughout much of the year, creating many perfect days for canoeing with Wilderness Inquiry!
