Overview
Wilderness Inquiry has been dipping our paddles in the Bronx River Since 2012! The Bronx River flows from its headwaters in Westchester County past the New York Botanical Gardens and the Bronx Zoo before emptying into the East River. Once a highly polluted waterway, recent efforts by the Bronx River Alliance and others have allowed the River to rebound. Nowadays you may be lucky enough to see a beaver or native alewife in these waters as you paddle through the South Bronx along the future onshore site of the Bronx River Greenway.
