Overview
The Cannon River traverses 112 miles of Southeastern Minnesota where biking, rock climbing, paddling, hiking, cross country skiing, and other recreational activities attract residents and visitors alike. The Cannon and its sister rivers, lakes and tributaries are a centerpiece of recreation as well as wildlife habitat– home to species like mallard ducks, mussels, river otters, loons, bald eagles, muskrats, and squirrels. Keep an eye out for double-crested cormorants and foxes! Not only can you picnic, fish, and swim, you can hop in a Voyageur canoe and enjoy the park from a unique and immersive perspective!
