Our three most common paddle routes on the Mississippi River offer different learning experiences. Choose a route that best suits your group.

• North Route: Brooklyn Park River Park to Boom Island
  On this paddle, learn about the different industries developed along the Mississippi River and how they impact the river and our lives. You’ll see first hand how humans impact and interact with our local waterways.
• Gorge Route: East River Flats to Sand Flats at 34th St and West River Parkway
  Why is this stretch called “The Gorge?” Learn how the Mississippi Gorge was formed and its history on this unique stretch of river.
• South Route: Hidden Falls Regional Park to Harriet Island Regional Park
  Learn about the lives of Dakota people, Voyageur Fur Traders, European settlers, and the importance of Bdote while paddling this stretch of river.

  Paddle through the Mississippi River’s floodplain forests and by the confluence with the Minnesota River, and learn why this unique ecosystem is so important for our local plants, animals, and water quality.
