Sign Language Interpreter Opportunities
One of the great aspects of Wilderness Inquiry is that we help provide additional service in the form of sign language interpreters for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Sign language interpreters assist in communicating important trip and safety information as well other functions. Being a sign language interpreter on a multi-day wilderness adventure is an interesting and rewarding experience. In this context, it is not practical to interpret every conversation. However, on these trips learning sign language often becomes a focus of the overall group – a beautiful thing to see!
In exchange for their services, sign language interpreters participate at no cost on our trips. If you received an e-mail directing you to this page from Wilderness Inquiry, you are already identified as a sign language interpreter. If you think you or a friend would make an excellent sign language interpreter, learn more and apply here.
To receive the sign language interpreter no cost discount, you must register through this web window. If you register through the main Wilderness Inquiry website you will not receive the discount. To register, simply browse the trips listed below, and click “Register Now.” We will contact you after receiving your registration form to confirm your trip.
Note: Trips that say “Join Wait List” still need a Sign Language Interpreter. A special spot on the roster is being held just for a Trip Assistant, so please fill out the Wait List request and we will sign you up for the trip.
