Multiply Your Generosity, Reduce Your Tax Burden
A gift from your IRA is a simple way to support Wilderness Inquiry while receiving tax benefits in return.
People who are 70½ years of age or older can give up to $108,000 annually directly from their IRA to a nonprofit of their choosing without having to pay income tax on that money. Sometimes referred to as an IRA charitable rollover or qualified charitable distribution (QCD), this option has a number of benefits for you:
- See Your Generosity in Action
These gifts make an immediate impact on Wilderness Inquiry’s mission!
- No Income Tax
IRA gifts don’t count as taxable income or a tax deduction, so even if you don’t itemize your deductions, you benefit from making the gift.
- Satisfy Your Minimum Distribution
Once you turn 73 years of age, an IRA gift can satisfy some or all of your required minimum distribution.
- Reduce Your Annual Income Level
These gifts don’t count toward your annual income, which can mean lower Medicare premiums and a decreased amount of taxable Social Security.
