Building a Path Forward
Join us as we shape the future of outdoor learning, recreation, and engagement.
Our Vision
Guided by our commitment to inclusion in the outdoors, we’ve embarked on an intentional path forward to build stronger organizational efficiency, excellence, and long-term sustainability, while expanding our reach and impact.
Our Strategic Plan
Developed in 2022, our five-year strategic plan creates the momentum needed to shape our future with a focus on priorities that guide our overarching strategy and growth.
National Brand and National Reach
Expand program reach and depth to connect more people with the health and wellness benefits of time spent outdoors and attract resources to forward our mission. The importance of our programs offered to core focus communities underlines the need to provide services to everyone. Access to a national network of funders with a passion for connecting all people to the natural world is critical for sustaining and providing opportunities for individuals without the means to otherwise explore the outdoors or benefit from Wilderness Inquiry programs.
Organizational Efficiency and Effectiveness
To achieve our goals, we are strengthening our internal capacity and organizational effectiveness. Growing from within ensures we have the systems, structure, and leadership needed to equitably deliver high-quality, inclusive services. We are committed to attracting diverse participants, staff, and funders, and to ensuring that our internal processes, policies, and practices reflect these commitments. By aligning our operations with our mission and values, we build the foundation necessary to sustain and scale our impact.
Long-Term
Sustainability
We are committed to building a resilient, future-ready organization that can thrive in a changing world. By streamlining our operations and adopting additional sustainability practices, we ensure our programs remain high-quality and accessible for generations to come. By proactively adapting to economic and environmental shifts, securing the long-term stability needed to protect our mission and the natural spaces we share.
