Celebrate Whitney by supporting accessibility at the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore
It’s been five years since Whitney’s passing. To celebrate her, we invite you to support Wilderness Inquiry’s campaign which invests in her favorite place to adventure: the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore!
Your contribution supports the following projects at Wilderness Inquiry’s basecamp in the Apostle Islands:
- Connector Trail: increase accessibility to the lakeshore and provide signage, bench to rest, and ongoing improvements and maintenance.
- Staff Yurt and Bunkhouse: upgrade staff housing options and add electricity and other conveniences to existing housing.
- Trails and Walkways: ensure accessibility to all areas of basecamp through specific groundcoverings and paths.
- Maintenance UTV: provide relief to staff that are hauling equipment and supplies throughout the camp, and increase overall efficiency.
- Screened In Pavilion: keep out those pesky bugs!
Please join us in supporting this campaign with a gift in honor of Whitney so that we can increase opportunities for more people to experience the natural world, improve individual well-being, and foster healthier communities by engaging individuals and communities historically and currently underrepresented in the outdoors.
