Bryan Karban
Senior Manager of Program Operations
As the Senior Manager of Program Operations, Bryan ensures Day Programs and Extended Adventures run smoothly and safely by overseeing Wilderness Inquiry’s facilities management, transportation, food, equipment, and seasonal staff training and hiring. He supports the operational aspects of program delivery and strategic growth opportunities.
Prior to working at Wilderness Inquiry, Bryan was the Outdoor Program Director for University of Minnesota Recreation and Wellness where he led the operations and programming of guided outdoor trips, three indoor climbing facilities, and an outdoor equipment rental shop. During his time at the University, he had the opportunity to serve for six years on the board of directors for the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) and the Minnesota Climbers Association (MCA), teach a course titled "Facilitating Outdoor Experiences" in the Youth Studies Program, and guide international backpacking trips to Iceland. Bryan is passionate about reducing barriers to outdoor adventures and nature based experiences and helping people discover their personal "why" for spending time outside. Bryan was drawn to Wilderness Inquiry because of the organization's mission and impact.
